Crafting Divine Heritage

Carving Devotion Since 2011

Temple Khazana began as a modest woodworking shop in Rajkot, Gujarat, serving local families looking for simple wooden home shrines. Under the guidance of master temple carvers, we discovered that families were searching for shrines that matched the architecture of modern flats while preserving sacred temple layouts (Vastu Shastra).

Today, our workshop houses over 25 skilled artisans specializing in hand-carved Gopurams, floral arches, side panels, and storage bases. Using seasoned Grade-A Teak wood, rosewood, and spiritual Sevan wood, we blend ancient temple designs with modern features like backlit CNC jaali grids and soft-close storage drawers.

Whether you require a standard wall-mounted mandir for a flat, or a double-door standing pooja mandir for a large villa, we carve with deep devotion and precision.

Wood Knowledge

Teak Wood vs. Sevan Wood

Choosing the correct wood is essential for both structural durability and spiritual values. Learn about the two primary materials used at Temple Khazana.

Premium Teak Wood (Sagwan)

Teak is globally renowned as the king of hardwood. Seasoned Teak wood holds its shape for decades, resisting warping and insects due to its natural oils.

  • Incredible Durability: Lasts for generations; does not decay or split under changes in moisture.
  • Fine Carving Detail: High fiber density allows our artisans to carve intricate peacock feathers, elephants, and floral vines without chipping.
  • Polish Adaptability: Honey polish, dark walnut stain, or gloss rosewood highlights bring out teak's beautiful natural wood grain.

Auspicious Sevan Wood (Shivan)

Sevan is traditionally called the 'Spiritual Wood'. In Hindu scriptures, the Sevan tree represents positive energy, peace, and divine prosperity, making it highly recommended for household mandirs.

  • Spiritual Vibrations: Believed to attract positive vibrations and divine energy, bringing peace to the pooja room.
  • Natural Cream Hue: Ages into a beautiful warm ivory/yellow gold color, creating a serene, bright temple presence.
  • Lightweight Sturdiness: Excellent structural strength for wall-mounted mandirs, reducing the load on your home wall brackets.
Our Workflow

The Manufacturing Process

How a log of seasoned wood is transformed into a gorgeous home mandir at our Rajkot facility.

1

Timber Seasoning

Wood is moisture-cured in a temperature chamber. This guarantees it will not wrap, bend, or crack when shipped across India's diverse climate zones.

2

Hand Carving

Master artisans draw templates onto the seasoned planks and carve traditional domes, elephants, and pillars by hand with traditional chisels.

3

Multi-Stage Polish

Temples undergo anti-termite chemical treatments, followed by three rounds of sanding and sealing lacquer coats for moisture protection.

4

Electrical Wiring

We pre-install heavy-duty copper wires, LED spotlight fixtures, and backlit panels so the temple is fully plug-and-play on arrival.
